To get from Lisbon to Peniche there are two types of busses. Both companies are comfortable, affordable and quick and it’s the easiest solution, if you have not already arranged a private airport pick-up. We personally prefer the Rapido Tejo busses, but overall there is not much difference. Both have a great service.
Bus lines (Click to see the schedule):
1) Rede Expressos busses from “Sete Rios” in Lisbon
2) Rapido TEJO from “Campo Grande” (working days only!)
The busses leave every hour, the whole ride from Lisbon to Peniche takes approximately 1 1/2 hours
Costs: 9 – 10 €
(At Sete Rios you buy your tickets from the counter inside the bus station. In the Rapido Tejo busses, you pay when entering the bus. Buying tickets online in advance is really not necessary.)
How to get from Lisbon airport to the bus station?
– To “Sete Rios” you can take the Aeroshuttle 96 (3,50 €, 20 min), or you choose one of the moderately priced cabs. The ride from the airport to Sete Rios is about 7 €. If you share it with a friend, it is already as cheap as the public transport.
– To “Campo Grande“, a cab is the best solution. It’s only a 10 minute drive which costs about 5,- €
At night or if you carry oversize baggage like a surfboard bag, prices can double!
Avoid to take the cars waiting in the taxi line in front of the Airport. Here you will mostly pay a higher pick-up fee. If you walk just 100 meters away from the entrance and straight towards the city, you can easily stop a cab on the street. It might save you a few bucks.
How to get from Peniche to Baleal?
It’s 4 kilometers from Peniche to Baleal by bus. Busses are rare, but on time, unfortunately the last one leaves Peniche at 6.45 pm in the evening. A cab from the Peniche bus station to Baleal costs 10 € including your baggage. Surf Taxi Peniche will gladly arrange pick ups from the bus station in Peniche on request, if it doesn’t interfere with our course times.
